Who knows?

"We may not always understand the Lord's wisdom behind every event, but all things happen for a reason.
Who knows?
What we may consider as tragedy may turn out to be a blessing after all...
God is too wise to be mistaken."

Yesterday morning, I received that quote. I've been wanting to write a post similar to that message for quite some time already. But as you can see, it's only now that I got to share it here. I think Jubell's text message was God's gentle nudge.

In line with the quote's message is this story. I don't know who originally wrote this.

A farmer had one old horse that he used for tilling his fields. One day the horse escaped into the hills and when all the farmer’s neighbors heard about it, they sympathized with the old man over his bad luck. “Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows? Only God knows.” said the farmer.
A week later, the horse returned with a herd of wild horses from the hills and this time the neighbors congratulated the farmer on his good luck. “Good luck? Bad luck? Who knows? Only God knows” said the farmer.
Then, when the farmer’s son was attempting to tame one of the wild horses, he fell off its back and broke his leg. Everyone agreed that this was very bad luck. Not the farmer, who replied, “Bad Luck? Good luck? Who knows? Only God knows.”
Some weeks later, the army marched into the village and forced every able-bodied young man to go fight in a bloody war. When they saw that the farmer’s son had a broken leg, they let him stay. Everyone was very happy at the farmer’s good luck.
“Good luck? Bad luck? Who knows? Only God knows.”

These remind me that God is indeed awesome! He turns what was meant to hurt us into something beautiful. More popularly known as "blessings in disguise" ;)

They say that children smile 400 times a day while adults do with only 15. So, everyone, let's smile! =)

oil for your lamp

Once upon a time, I ran out of "oil for my own lamp". Since I haven't read (or heard) anything about it, I thought I was just a plain bum. Until I stumbled upon this movie.

(You can watch the movie here)

(or browse snippets of the book here)

It happens to be International Women's Month! I think the movie fits quite with the celebration, don't you think?

Note:
I am not a reseller or affiliate of Simple Truth. I just like their movies. That's why I share them. ;)

My first favorite from their movies is 212°:The Extra Degree
